SECRET.

Sir,

GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONG KONG.

31st March, 1931.

127

112 in 72838730

I have the honour to forward the enclosed

plan of part of the New Territories showing enclosed

in red lines an area which it is suggested should,

subject to certain conditions, be used by the

imperial and International Communications Limited

for the purpose of erecting a commercial wireless

station.

2.

In approving the proposal to hand over to

this Company the Government's commercial wireless

service, the Secretary of State in a telegram of the

1st of August, 1930, added that this approval was given

subject to a condition that the Naval Wireless Station

is not affected and that the Admiralty is consulted

before the erection of any new station or apparatus

which might cause interference with the Naval Station".

I shall therefore be glad to know whether in

your opinion any such interference need be feared so

as the site now described is concerned.

3.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient servant,

far

The Commodore-in-Charge,

Commodore'

Office

(SD).

W. PEEL.

Governor, &c.
